Warisguda or Warasiguda is one of the suburbs in Hyderabad, India. It is mainly a residential area. It is very close to Osmania University campus.
The name is from Waris (the landlord who sold the area to different parties) and GUDA for a populated place. This place comes under Chilkalguda Police Station.
There are many shops which cater to all the needs of the people. It has three main bakeries, MGM, Meena and Bobby Bakery. MGM Bakery is the oldest shopping establishment for this place. It also has stores such as Medical shops and one of mainly medical shop happy home medical shop which is also serving the people A.P.Online services, sweet meat shops, Watch Repairs, Internet Cafes.
Mumtaz Hotel is a popular for its tea and Hyderabadi biryani. During Ramzan it is dotted by haleem joints along with Kausar Masjid, the main mosque of this place. and another masjid which is located close to it is masjid-e-firdous in shahbazguda.
Shola hotel lane houses a famous Pani Puri Joint. It is famous for hot pani puri unlike the normal pani puri, the puri is filled with hot daal before serving. The Sridevi Nursing Home also comes under this area.
The Dena Bank on the main road is one of the most modern banks of Warasiguda (or warisguda).It has many good services, as ATMs on the main road. There is a post office in this area, ATMs of Andhra Bank, SBI. The Main road of this area is earmarked for road widening and is pending since 8 years or so leading to congested traffic all the time. The Autos ply to Secunderabd Railway station from here and charge Rs.5/- under pooling scheme. SBH has a very old branch here quite opposite to it there is a Fancy Store, courier, travel store which caters to the requirements in the area.
The people here have been living since 50 old years and this area has become quite old when compared to upcoming and new areas.
Warasiguda also houses many Car and Bike Mechanic Workshops and electrical shops apart from many cyber cafes and mobile phone servicing centers.
The APSRTC buses connect Warisguda with all parts of the city. 86 Bus route which shuttles mainly between secunderabd and koti. 107v bus shuttles between Secunderabad and Dilsukhnagar. There are minor bus routes which have different destinations.
From Warasiguda to O.U the distance is around 1.5 km.
The closest MMTS Train station is at Jamia Osmania and Arts College
The SBH Lane belonging to the Sitaram colony is known for its cleanliness. there is also a colony called Indira Nagar colony. Some of the good buildings in Indira Nagar Colony are 'Gulshan-e-Fathima', and few apartments.
One of the oldest streets of Warisguda is Zakir Road, which is next to Masjid Kausar. Very important feature of the street of Warisguda is that it leads straight upto Tank Bund .
