The station features "Big Mike" Fiss as the morning jock, who hosts weekdays and also hosts a smooth jazz program on Sundays from 6:30am to 10am. Rick Gary, formerly the morning host at rival WYYY and longtime TV host on ABC affiliate WSYR, hosts afternoons from 3pm to 7pm. Other personalities include Steve Kelley, Keith Kobland, Melanie Sands, Cindy Humble. The station, like many adult contemporary and classic hits stations do, has a "no repeat workday" that stretches from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., during which no songs air twice in that time span.
Smooth Jazz Sunday, hosted by Big Mike, airs Sunday mornings from 6:30am to 10am. Backtrax USA airs Sunday nights from 10pm to Midnight.
The station is one of a select few stations (KOSY-FM in Salt Lake City and WLIT in Chicago being among the others) that regularly changes its format to Christmas music in the beginning of November, as opposed to the week before Thanksgiving as its competitors do.
The station went on the air as WRDS on 25 January 1994. on 26 December 2000, the station changed its call sign to the current WZUN.[2]
On September 12, 2009 WZUN changed their format from adult contemporary to classic hits.
