WXIT (1200 AM) is a radio station that broadcasts in a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA. The station is currently owned by Curtis Media Group and features programing from CBS Radio, Westwood One and Jones Radio Network.

History

After buying WJTP in 1996 and changing its letters to WECR, Steve Rondinaro's Rondinaro Broadcasting started WECR-FM and added WXIT.

Aisling purchased these stations as well as WATA and WZJS, which were owned by Highland Communication Associates. Aisling went into receivership in early 2008. George Reed of Media Services Group was appointed to manage the stations until a buyer was found[1].

Later in 2008, Curtis Media Group agreed to purchase the stations.[2] The FCC approved the license transfer on November 25, 2008 - as of December 19, 2008, the transfer has not yet been completed.
