WWRX
WWRX ("Jammin' 107.7") is a Rhythmic Contemporary music formatted radio station licensed to Pawcatuck, Connecticut, and serves the New London, Connecticut, area. The station is owned by Red Wolf Broadcasting and broadcasts at 107.7 MHz with an ERP of 1.4 kW.
History
The WWRX call letters were transferred to its current location from a station that was based in Providence, Rhode Island, WEEI-FM (now WVEI-FM). The station's call letters were WHJM before adopting this callsign.
Before that, the station was WKCD, with a modern adult contemporary format from 1999–2002 (under owners Back Bay Broadcasting and AAA Entertainment), and a smooth jazz format from its sign-on in the mid-1990s to 1999. [1] [2]
