Christmas Radio

WRHS announced its intention to become the earliest station to change over to Christmas music in 2007 (as "Jack Frost"), surpassing 2006's first Christmas station, KOSY-FM in Salt Lake City, which switched on October 30, 2006. The station launched its Christmas format on the morning of October 25, 2007. However, they were beaten by WEXM in Indianapolis, who began stunting on Monday, October 8, through the rest of the holiday season. The next year, in an effort not to be outdone, WRHS-FM announced that they would play holiday music from Thursday, September 25, 2008 to Thursday, January 8, 2009, which would surpass any current stunt by a commercial station. This successfully beat WMVN, the first FCC-licensed station to change to the format, which changed on October 10, 2008. The holiday music continued on sister station 88.1 WXMS Harwood Heights as WRHS suspended the format for the week surrounding Halloween by changing to all Halloween music (changing its slogan during that period to "Jack O'Lantern"). From September 25, 2008 to January 8, 2009, 88.1 FM is WXMS in Harwood Heights, Illinois. From October 27, 2008 to November 3, 2008, 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge is Jack O'Lantern playing Halloween music. From July 9, 2009 to January, 2010, 89.7 FM WRHS Norridge played all holiday hits as "Jack Frost." During that time, the adult hits Jack FM format moved to 88.1 FM WRWX Harwood Heights.
