WPOR
WPOR is a radio station in Portland, Maine that broadcasts a country music radio format. It is currently owned by Saga Communications. It broadcasts at 101.9 on the FM dial.
Prior to 1999, the station had an AM simulcast on 1490 kHz; that station is now WBAE.
In its heyday in the 1980s, WPOR had an announcer lineup that included Bud Sawyer, Tom Hennessey, Glen Slater, Deborah Delaney, Hal Knight, Brad Hughes, Chuck Brady, Ray Terry, Mike Audette, Gary Nelson, and others.
At one time, it was the most listened-to radio station in the state of Maine, and one of the top country music stations in America.
