WPBZ is located in the West Palm Beach, Florida area and broadcasts at 103.1 FM. Known as "Now 103.1", it is an adult top 40 music station with the slogan "Today's Best Hits Without the Rap".
WPBZ signed on as "103.1 The Buzz" on July 3, 1995 (it was an affiliate of the "Z Rock" radio network before then), and its 90,000-watt signal blankets South Florida's east coast from Hollywood in the south all the way to Sebastian in the north, a span of over 125 miles.
WPBZ's transmitter is located on the west side of Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound and is 972 feet high. Also sharing WPBZ's transmitter tower are stations WMBX and WKGR.
WPBZ broadcasts at 103.1 on the FM dial and also broadcasts an HD radio (hybrid digital) signal. It currently broadcasts a Buzz Light sub-channel on its secondary HD signal. Additionally, The Buzz streams the main Buzz, and the Buzz Light broadcast through its website www.buzz103.com.
On December 5, 2011 at 3pm WPBZ changed their format to adult top 40, branded as "Now 103.1". The "Buzz" active rock format moved to the HD2 subchannel, replacing "Buzz Lite".[1] It is the second hot AC station under CBS Radio using the Now FM branding, the first being on Sacramento, California's KZZO. It is reported as contemporary hit radio by CBS Radio, but despite most of the rap being on sister rhythmic contemporary WMBX, it continues to be a hot AC.
