WMQM
WMQM is an American radio station in Memphis, Tennessee, broadcasting with 50,000 watts at 1600 AM. WMQM is the sister station to shortwave radio station WWCR World Wide Christian Radio. WMQM is owned and operated by F.W. Robbert Broadcasting, Inc. It was the original broadcasting location of the white nationalist radio program The Political Cesspool.
History
- In 1955, WKBJ AM 1600 signed on in Milan, Tennessee operated by Milan Broadcasting Company, Inc.
- 12/03/2001 WKBJ Applied to relocate to Lakeland, Tennessee.
- The move was permitted when KJIW AM 1600 West Helena, Arkansas surrendered its license.
- 02/26/2002 The FCC accepted the sale of WKBJ TO WMQM, Inc.
- 05/29/2002 The call letters are changed to WMQM (The WMQM call letters were previously assigned to AM 1480 in Memphis)
- 12/21/2002 WMQM signed on with 50 kW at the new location in Memphis.
