WMEN (640 AM) is a sports talk radio station in Florida. The station currently carries many programs from Sporting News Radio. Up until April 2009, WMEN was a Fox Sports Radio affiliate, but lost the affiliation to WINZ. WMEN also carries FAU and FSU football and basketball games. Local shows include Jeff DeForrest on "The First Team" weekdays mornings from 6am-10am ET. He has various co-hosts on the program including CBS Sports Lesley Visser and former Miami Dolphin Troy Stradford. WMEN also carries New York Yankees baseball.[1] The station is owned and operated by James-Crystal Enterprises.

WMEN is located at 640 kHz and has been granted a construction permit for 50,000 watts/day, 25,000 watts/night from a tower site in Belle Glade, FL. The power increase was approved because of interference from Cuban radio stations on the same frequency. Adding to that, the station has been granted a special temporary authority to operate at 50,000 watts day and night, with directional signals.

Prior to becoming WMEN, the call letters were WJNA, which had been on various frequencies in the market prior to 640AM. WJNA's format was "standards" or "nostalgia" which targeted older demographics. WJNA became WMEN on October 23, 2006, and changed formats to ManTalk 640. ManTalk was a talk radio format geared toward adult males, similar to talk formats found on FM. All shows carried by ManTalk were syndicated.

WMEN changed to its sports talk format on 2008-03-03, but retained the WMEN call letters. On-the-air, the station calls itself, WFTL 640 Sports, using the call letters of its sister station WFTL (AM). In the past, 640 AM carried Marlins baseball as the Palm Beach affiliate of the Marlins Radio Network before games moved to WEFL. In the past, WMEN has served as the home of the Florida Panthers hockey team if the Florida Marlins are playing simultaneously on WAXY.[2]
