The station is a "legacy" talk radio station (meaning it has aired the same format for over twenty years.) and carries the Rush Limbaugh show live on weekdays, as well as national talkers Michael Savage and George Noory. National news is provided by the Fox News Radio network; local news by the station's own local radio news department featuring News Director Kelli Steele, Andrew Koch and Mari Lou, one of the only such departments in Delaware.

The station is known for its heavy commitment to locally-originated talk programming and its focus on local, regional and State issues.

The morning show (5:30-9:00AM) is hosted by WGMD Program Director Dan Gaffney and is widely known to pay close attention to Sussex County issues involving schools, social issues, politics and family in (Sussex County seat) Georgetown, as well as Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Millsboro, Milford and other Sussex and Kent County communities.
