History

On February 22, 1985 it signed on as WADU with an adult contemporary format targeting the western suburbs of New Orleans. It became a Spanish contemporary outlet with the WFNO call letters on March 25, 1996.

Programming

Shows include El Vacilón de la Mañana, with Nasty and Potris two known DJs and morning hosts. El Vacilón is a drive time show, with local and international news (CNN en Español Radio), music, traffic, call ins, contests, etc. Mid day music show is hosted by José Hidalgo featuring select music followed Sports with Emilio Peralta and Marco Antonio, afternoon drive time shows, evening sports (connection with Fútbol de Primera with Andrés Cantor. Thursday evening "Estudio Abierto" with Carolina Rossell, a community affairs show with interviews.

On weekends programming starts with "Suplemento" a cultural radio magazine with international news roundup with CNN en Español correspondents, information, commentaries, live interviews, sponsored segments and music. Hosted by broadcasting veteran Rafael Shabetai and co-hosted by Claudia Losúa-Vivanco. It is followed by El Hit Parade de América, top 20 musical countown hosted by Javier Romero directly from Miami. The afternoons are hosted by local announcers and DJs, Soraya Acosta, Juan Geny Murillo, and others. Sunday morning to noon is religious programming. Afternoon is music with local presenters.
