WBQB had originally been WFVA-FM, simulcasting sister WFVA's Middle of the Road format.
In the early 1980s, WFVA-FM split from the AM/FM simulcast and began a Classic Rock format.
In 1989, WFVA-FM switched calls to WBQB and picked up its current Hot Adult Contemporary format.
