Voio (Greek: Βόιο, Voio; ancient Greek: Βόιον, Boeon) is a mountain range in the southwestern Kastoria and western Kozani prefecture in Greece. The mountain is part of the Pindus mountain ranges. Its peaks stand over 1,802 m and is located in the south-central part.

The GR-20 (GR-20 (Kozani - Konitsa - Ioannina) is to the south, 15 km from the mountaintop. A river flows to the south; its length is approximately 25 to 30 km from north to south and its width is approximately 15 to 20 km from east to west.

The first home of Boeotians was in mountain Boion; the mountain gave them their name.[1]

Information

Forests dominate the low lying areas of the mountain and contains pine and spruce trees, the valley areas, grasslands, bushes and non-vegetated portions dominate the higher elevations. The area around the mountain contains villages and forest roads as well as hiking trails, some roads do not connect both sides of the mountain range. Two roads surround the mountains. The mountaintop is to the southeast.

Panorama

Its panorama includes the Gramos mountains, the northern part can see the northern and the central Kastoria prefecture, western and central Kozani Prefecture and the northwestern and western Grevena Prefecture.
