Virserum is a locality situated in Hultsfred Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 1,847 inhabitants in 2005.[1] It was before 1971 a Köping. Today the town has around 2000 inhabitants. The history of Virserum goes back to Middle Ages, and in the 1950th the town was a center of furniture industry. In the village Bösebo, 10 km east of Virserum you can find marks of a settlement 2500 B.C.
