Vihanti is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the Northern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 3,083 (31 January 2011)[2] and covers an area of 489.64 square kilometres (189.05 sq mi) of which 4.93 km2 (1.90 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 6.36 inhabitants per square kilometre (16.5 /sq mi).
Vihanti is home of the heavy rock band "Gobra". The original cast was all-Vihantian, but the current one includes also outsiders. The band has a rehearsal facilities in the Lampinsaari village.
The great dance hall in Mäntylampi was the biggest one in the whole province during the 1970s but is now used only couple of times per year. The Mäntylampi camping area has not been well kept.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
