Victoria Hall is a company providing Student Accommodation. It is part of the O'Flynn Group, a privately owned property and construction company.[2] Using a model developed in Cork in the 1990s, Victoria Hall was formed in 1996 to develop the student accommodation branch of the company and export this part of the business from Ireland, into the UK. Since then Victoria Hall has grown to develop properties in a number major cities in the UK and on mainland Europe.
Victoria Hall is home to almost 7000 students in 11 cities in the UK, Ireland (Cork), and in mainland Europe in Germany (Bremen) and Spain (Valencia).[3] Properties are managed autonomously with a central company office in London.
Victoria Hall develops, owns and operates all of its large property schemes, which function independently and in partnership with universities. Partnership agreements have been formed with The University of Birmingham,[4] Cardiff Metropolitan University,[5] Glasgow University,[6] De Montfort University,[7] Liverpool John Moores University,[8] The University of Manchester,[9] Newcastle University,[10] Northumbria University,[11] and Sheffield Hallam University.[12]
Victoria Hall in Wembley, London has been built with an investment in a new, renewable energy source called Biomass which is expected to reduce the carbon footprint of the building significantly.[13]
Victoria Hall has been recognised and awarded for its accommodation. It was voted the Best Private Hall Provider by students in the National Student Housing Survey 2011. It was also awarded an International Accommodation Quality Mark, given to providers and universities to recognise the service offered to international students.[14]
