"Vernatun" (Armenian: Վերնատուն, meaning Upper Room in Armenian) was an Armenian literary study group and a collective of writers based on the fourth floor of 44 Bebutov Street (Hovhannes Tumanyan's house) in Tiflis. "Vernatun" which was established in 1899.[1] With some pauses it exists until 1908. The leader of "Vernatun" was Hovhannes Tumanyan.[2]

In "Vernatun" were organized readings, conferences, literary talkings, book debates. In the events of "Vernatun" participate Pertch Proshian, Nikol Aghbalian, Alexander Shirvanzade, Nar-Dos, Vrtanes Papazyan, Vahan Terian, Leo, Stepan Lisitsyan, Mariam Tumanyan, Gevorg Bashinjagyan, etc. People's Artist of the USSR Dmitriy Nalbandyan have a painting "Vernatun" (1976) in honor of the literary group.
