Veriflora

Contents

Veriflora is a certification process for sustainably grown flowers and plants. It is currently implemented by over 30 farms worldwide, yielding an estimated 521 million stems.[1] VeriFlora certification is administered by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a third-party certifier of environmental, sustainability and agricultural product quality claims.

Standards

The VeriFlora Certification Program is accredited under ISO/IEC Guide 65, the international standard for third-party product certifiers.

Key components of the Veriflora program are fair labor practices, sustainable crop production, waste management and the conservation of resources. Growers are limited in the agrochemicals they use, and are required to safely store hazardous wastes and materials in accordance with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as move towards traditional organic certification[2].
