Venom & Tears is the fifth album by the Orange County, California-based band, Throwdown. It was released on August 7, 2007. As an indication of the band's increasing visibility, the album was featured in Best Buy's weekly circular prior to its release. With this album, some fans note a movement in Throwdown's sound towards groove metal and away from their roots in hardcore.
As a gimmick, the album insert has two holes on the neck of the pictured female. The holes are in the place of the two fang wounds in the picture at right.
Americana was released with a cover of Crowbar's "Planets Collide" as a Digital EP exclusive to iTunes prior to the albums release.
Holy Roller was released as the first single from the album.
I, Suicide appears on the Soundtrack to the film Resident Evil: Extinction.
