Publication history

The vegepygmy was created by Gary Gygax, and first appeared in first edition in 1980's adventure module Expedition to the Barrier Peaks,[1] and reprinted in the original Monster Manual II (1983).[2]

The vegepygmy appeared in second edition in the Monstrous Manual (1993).[3]

Ecology

A vegepygmy is created when a humanoid is slain by russet mold, the victim's body transforming into a new creature.

Environment

Typical physical characteristics

Although made of plant material, the vegepygmy, or "mold man," is humanoid in shape (though only three feet tall) and somewhat intelligent.

Alignment

A vegepygmy is usually neutral.

Society

Vegepygmies keep pets called "thornies", which are shaped like dogs but are really plant creatures as well.
