Vasind is a town in Maharastra. It is also a station on the Mumbai Suburban Railway system on the Central line between Kalyan and Kasara.
Vasind mainly belonged to Kathole ,Vishe and Shelar families. It is mainly dominated by Kunbi people. It is surrounded by Khativali, Vehloli, Bhatsai, Shere, Shei, Ambarje, Dahagaon, Kasane, Sarmal, Pali, Sane, Kandali, Koshimbi, Kosle, Vehle, Khaniwali and many more small villages.
Jindal steel, Essel packaging, Khanna pipes, Shetron, Nexus Steels are the main industrial units around Vasind. Recently, Tata Housing decided to build Shubh Griha, a project for developing a housing society in Vasind which will help the place develop in the real estate sector. The population is around 25000. It is well connected with rail & road. It is located on the banks of the Bhatsa river so faces no water shortage. It is growing very fast in the recent years. Surrounded by many hills. Also you can see Mahuli fort behind vasind. Manas Mandir is 8 km away from Vasind. It is the second most important temple of jain community.
It is an really great place to live with good connectivity of Road and Railway transport. New schools are upcomimg in vasind and also in Asangaon there are Welknown Engineering and Medical colleges. Balaji Healthcare; New old age care and multi speciality hospital will soon be operational in vasind east.
