Vardousia (Greek: Βαρδούσια) is a former municipality in Phocis, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Dorida, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 2,216 (2001). The seat of the municipality was in Krokyleio. It was named after the nearby mountain Vardousia.

Geography

Vardousia are mainly mountains and covers the area, the central portion are forested, the valley portions contains farmlands and groves. The Vardousia mountains lies to the northeast along with the Pindus mountains. Many houses were stone built until the 1960s.
