The Vanxains devil is a folkloric personage that is supposedly sitting atop the steeple of the old church. Sightings a have been reported, but are theorized just to be practical jokes. It is thought to be a substitute for the mauling of animals in the area. Farmers have been sourced to creating the legend. It is supposed to have a pointed tail, similar to that of the real devil, and thin ebony hair, with purple skin. The most distinctive characteristic of the beast is the blood-red wings.
