Vaddera

Vaddera (alternatively Vadde or Vadderaju) is a caste in Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and some other states in India. Vaddera/Waddera's ancestors were stonecutters and diggers. Their main occupation is either digging wells and canals or cutting stones to earn their livelihood. Today the face of the community has changed a lot. There are very few members of the community who are still doing their ancestrol occupation of stone cutting or digging wells. Most of the members today are into Civil Contracts. In a few states, you can find some of the law makers from this community as in Karnataka and Tamilnadu. Members started expressing their interests towards politics offlate in Andhra Pradesh.

Vaddera Yuvatha Abhyudaya Samithi (Shortly called as VYAS) is a Non-Profit organization started by professionals from various fields. Laxminarayana Pallapu, Sudhakar Orsu and couple of others have taken the initiative of starting this Society. This is a registered society with Registrar of Societies, Andhra Pradesh. Vaddera Yuvatha Abhyudaya Samithi is actively contributing for the development of the Vaddera community in large. From the day of inception, it has executed many programs benefiting the students of the community at large. Under the leadership of its President, Mr. Laxmi Narayana Pallapu, VYAS is promoting Education, Health Care, Anti-poverty, Career Guidance, Women & Girl Child Upliftment.
