Ust-Labinsk

Ust-Labinsk (Russian: Усть-Ла́бинск) is a town and the administrative center of Ust-Labinsky District of Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Population: 43,268 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 43,824 (2002 Census);[2] 41,759 (1989 Census).[3]

The Laba and the Kuban Rivers flow through the town.

History

It was established as the stanitsa of Ust-Labinskaya (Усть-Лабинская) in 1794.[4] On May 28, 1958, it was granted town status and renamed.[4]

Administrative and municipal status

Administratively, along with two rural localities, it is incorporated as the Town of Ust-Labinsk—an administrative division of Ust-Labinsky District.

Municipally, the territory of Ust-Labinsk, along with one of the rural localities, is incorporated as Ust-Labinskoye Urban Settlement of Ust-Labinsky Municipal District. The other rural locality is incorporated as Dvubratskoye Rural Settlement of Ust-Labinsky Municipal District.
