Ujhani was ruled by the Saxena dynasty in the 5th century A.D. After the start of Delhi Sultnate it came under the rulers of Delhi then Mughals took over it and the it became part of British kingdom.In 20 th century it became a part of Uttar Pradesh and in 21st century of Western U.P. MR. ZIA UR RAHMAN a famous personality of india was born in ujhani on 17 aug 1982. he is a great social worker and scholar of india. his HAVELI is a famous historical place in ujhani district budaun. It's the Best Block in Distt. Budaun consisting 18 cold storage . There are two Vanaspati Unit.

Ujhani is directly connected with the main cities like Bareilly, Agra, Mathura, NewDelhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Hathras, Kasganj, Pilibhit, Budaun, etc. Railway connectivity is avilable for Budaun, Bareilly, Kasgang, Pilibhit, Lalkuan only for this time. After gauge conversion under Unigauge Kanpur, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Farrukkhabad are also be connected. Bus transport available for all describe cities.
Ujhani is a small town connected to many rural areas. Many children from the villages come here to get education. In recent times with great emphasis on education, there have been many schools and colleges that are being established here.
There are a lot of schools for primary education and various schools and colleges for secondary education like Bhadwar Girls Inter College,New Little Angle School, Harbilas Goyal Inter College, Rajrani Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Ayodhya Prasad Vidya Mandir, Vimla Hari Bhagwan Memorial School, Mother Sheel Memorial Academy, Essel Public School, Mahatma Gandhi Inter College, Asharfi Devi Inter College, Devnagri Inter college and Santosh Kumari Sharwan Kumar Memorial School ( under construction)etc. Ayodhya Prasad Memorial Degree College, Banke Bihari kanya mahavidyalaya are also in Ujhani. However, there is one Law college and one Management and Technology college under construction.
Ujhani does not have many industries. However, there are a couple of Vanaspati Factories, namely, Bhagwan Vanaspati and Kanha Vanaspati. There are a few brick kilns as well. The distance between Budaun and Ujhani which is presently 7 km is going to end in about 5 years as the whole area would be covered by settlements and industries. Ujhani has large number of Cold Storages, the prominent ones which are currently operating are Maheshwari Coldstorage, A.P.S. Coldstorage, Gyan Coldstorage, Sardar Coldstorage, Kanha Coldstorage and few others. However, there is a future for some food processing and preservation industries in Ujhani. there is another business of food grains.there is a separate "Mandi Sthal" for all the businessmen. all the farmers from nearby rural and agricultural area come here to sell there grains. wheat, maize, bazra are the main arrivals in ujhani mandi. this business of ujhani have a name at the national level of this business.
Ujhani comes under Budaun Lok Sabha Constituency currently post held by Mr.Dharmendra Yadav, nephew of Mr.Mulayam Singh Yadav. Ujhani comes under 114-Bilsi constituency of Budaun District. Currently the MLA of main city, Mr. Mahesh Chandra Gupta is MLA from Ujhani defeating the previous MLA Mr. Vimal Krishna Agarwal, who is a native of Ujhani. Currently, Mrs. Poonam Agarwal is the chairperson of Ujhani Nagar Palika Parishad.
