Uetendorf is a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
It is situated close to the city of Thun, and connected to traffic through the A8 motorway and the BLS train line Thun-Belp-Bern. Due to its favourable geographic situation, it is home to several small to medium-sized industry companies, most notably the "Sarner Cristal" Glass Hut.

Uetendorf has an area of 10.2 km2 (3.9 sq mi). Of this area, 73.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 7.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 19.3% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.2%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).[3]
Uetendorf has a population (as of 31 December 2010) of 5,980.[1] As of 2007[update], 4.6% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 4.7%. Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (95.3%), with Albanian being second most common ( 0.8%) and French being third ( 0.7%).
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 41% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the SPS (18.5%), the FDP (9.9%) and the CSP (8.9%).
The age distribution of the population (as of 2000[update]) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 24.7% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 61.8% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 13.5%. In Uetendorf about 78.2% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).
Uetendorf has an unemployment rate of 1.46%. As of 2005[update], there were 181 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 54 businesses involved in this sector. 997 people are employed in the secondary sector and there are 102 businesses in this sector. 1261 people are employed in the tertiary sector, with 188 businesses in this sector.[3]
