U.S. Corrugated, Inc. is a leading independent corrugated packaging producer headquartered in the United States. Along with its sister companies Mannkraft Corporation, a box and packaging company in the Northeast, and U.S. Display Group, designer and manufacturer of custom Point-of-Purchase displays, the company operates 25 full service manufacturing facilities in 15 states.[1] In addition, the company owns a state-of-the-art recycled containerboard paper mill in South Carolina.[2] US Corrugated manufactures and markets corrugated packaging and Point of Purchase displays.[3] U.S. Corrugated was established in 2006 by a number of strategic acquisitions.[4]

U.S. Corrugated’s legacy began in 1966 when Dennis Mehiel, the company’s founder and chairman, formed a partitions manufacturing business called Four M Manufacturing. Four M acquired their first full line box plant in 1985 in Newark, New Jersey and later in 1993 acquired Mannkraft Corporation which manufactured industrial packaging and Point of Purchase displays.[4]
In 1995, following the acquisition of the packaging division of St. Joe Corporation, it became the country’s largest independent corrugated manufacturer. It was renamed Box USA that same year. Box USA was eventually sold in 2004.[4]
U.S. Corrugated Inc was established in 2006 when Mr. Mehiel, having retained the Mannkraft operations, decided to start a new packaging venture. The initial acquisition was of the corrugated packaging division of Linpac Inc., followed by the acquisition of all Longview Fiber operations East of the Rockies. In course of time after acquisitions in Texas, Kentucky, Ohio and Iowa, U.S. Corrugated also built a 314,000 sq ft (29,200 m2) box plant in Lancaster, OH in 2009. That same year U.S. Corrugated was first recognized as the premier independent corrugated packaging manufacturer in North America.[4]
On October 21, 2011 U.S. Corrugated was acquired by Kapstone Paper and Packaging.
The core of business for U.S. Corrugated is the manufacture of corrugated industrial packaging of all shapes and sizes. They are also a significant designer and manufacturer of retail and graphic packaging.[5]
They also manufacture and supply bulk boxes, specialty packaging and corrugated sheets. U.S. Corrugated is a B2B manufacturer which sells it’s products to both small companies and to large multi-national corporations. Their sister company U.S. Display Group produces Point of Purchase displays, which includes counter displays, dump bins, floor displays, pallet displays, pop ups, powerwings and standees.[6]
U.S. Display Group has won numerous awards for the design of their P.O.P displays. It has been named as one of the top 50 P.O.P companies for the past 7 years by Creative magazine. They were also named the Supplier of the Year in 2008 for Saatchi and Saatchi X.[7] Together with U.S. Display Group, U.S. Corrugated Inc has more than 20 design patents for innovative structural design.[8]
In July 2009, U.S. Corrugated became SFI certified across all of its full-line corrugating facilities.[9]
In addition, U.S. Corrugated Inc. has a 100% recycled containerboard mill in South Carolina. utilizing a closed-mill concept, the mill does not discharge any water, does not lose any heat, sells pelletized rejects, and uses only recycled furnish.[2] They also receive old and used corrugated containers and sort it for further usage.[10]
In April 2011, U.S. Corrugated installed solar panels in several of their Northeast packaging plants in order to reduce their carbon footprint.[11]
