Tverečius is a town in Ignalina district municipality, in Utena County, southern Lithuania. According to the 2001 census, the town has a population of 272 people.[1]
During XX age between World Wars Tverečius was occupied by Poland. Later Soviet Union give premision of Tverečius to Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. Since 1940 town is part of Lithuania again.
