Türkan (also, Turkyany, Tyurkend, Tyurkyan, and Tyurkyany) is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 10,108.
Turkan is the homeland of the Turkana people. It is a basin-like land at the base of the Great Rift Valley, between Ethiopian Highlands and Kenya Islands. Turkan is plain lands with few mountain ranges. The eastern boundaries of Turkan is the Lake Turkana, the Eastern Rift Mountains and mountain ranges east of Suguta Valley. Western Limits of Turkan are the Western Rift Mountain and mountain ranges bordering Uganda.
