Tuboran, Ubay
Tuboran (officially Barangay Tuboran) is one of the 44 barangays constituting the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.
The barangay's total land area is approximately 547.7415 hectares[2], with a population of 1,135[3]as of 2007. In the last 2010 National election, it has 638[4]registered voters.
Barangay Tuboran celebrates its annual fiesta every January 15 in honor of their patron saint.
Location
Barangay Tuboran is situated on the southwestern part of the municipality. The local vicinity is bounded by barangay Humayhumay and Camambugan to the north; barangay Casate to the east; barangay Bay-ang to the south and the municipality of Trinidad to the west. It has approximate distance of 7 km from the town center, Poblacion.
Political subdivisions
There are seven puroks or units in the barangay manned by the elected kagawads including the Punong Barangay or Barangay chairman.
History
Barangay Tuboran is once a sitio of barangay Camambugan, before it became a separate barangay. Tuboran it is averred, evolved from the Visayan word "Tubod" meaning spring.
