Tsundur is a village and a mandal in the Guntur district of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. [1]

Tsunduru Dalit Massacre

The village became infamous for the sensational killing of 8 dalits (Malas) on the 6th of August, 1991, when a mob of over 400 people, composed of mainly Reddys and telagas chased down the victims along the bund of an irrigation canal. In the trial which was concluded, 21 people were sentenced to life imprisonment and 35 others to a year of rigorous imprisonment and a penalty of Rs. 2000 each, on the 31st of July, 2007, by special judge established for the Purpose under SC,STs Atrocities(Prevention) Act.[2] [3]
