Trybsz [trɨpʂ], (Slovak: Tribš) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łapsze Niżne, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland, close to the border with Slovakia. It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) west of Łapsze Niżne, 12 km (7 mi) south-east of Nowy Targ, and 74 km (46 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków.[1]
The village has a population of 800.
Trybsz is a village in the region of Spisz, north east of Zakopane, boasting a wonderful 16th century wooden church. Dedicated to St Elisabeth of Hungary, it is famous for its stunning polychromes representing the Catholic saints and scenes from the Bible. Dating back to 1647, they were laid out by the parish priest Jan Ratulowski of Frydman, but their author remains unknown.
