Trissexodontidae is a family of land snails, gastropods in the superfamily Helicoidea (according taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).

This family has no subfamilies.[3] Family Trissexodontidae has been separated from families Hygromiidae and Helicodontidae[3] and some authors still classify them in those families.

Description

Shells of species in the family Trissexodontidae are flat and they are regularly ribbed.[4] They have no hairs.[4]

Description of reproductive system was summarized by Prieto et al. (1993).[4]

In this family, the number of haploid chromosomes is only known for the genus Oestophora (n=30).[4]
