The Tricoloured Parrotfinch Erythrura tricolor is a species of estrildid finch found in Indonesia and East Timor. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 20,000 to 50,000 km².

It is found in subtropical/ tropical dry forest and dry savanna. The status of the species is evaluated as Least Concern.

Origin

Origin and phylogeny has been obtained by Antonio Arnaiz-Villena et al..[1] Estrildinae may have originated in India and dispersed thereafter (towards Africa and Pacific Ocean habitats).
