The Transit Australia Group is a transport services company based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Transit Australia trades under the products, Surfside Buslines and Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle on the Gold Coast, and Sunbus in the Queensland regions of Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Townsville, Magnetic Island and Cairns. In addition, Transit Australia also owns Bustech, a bus bodywork company on the Gold Coast.

History

Transit Australia Group was established in 2008 by the Calabro Family, which at the time were owners of Surfside Buslines and Bustech. At the same time, TAG announced the acquisition of Sunbus from Transit Australia in April 2008. In April 2009, TAG bought Magnetic Island Bus Services, and sold off the Sunbus Toowoomba operation to the Bus Queensland group.[1]

In April 2010, TAG announced the acquisition of Hermit Park Bus Service in Townsville, expanding the group's operations in Townsville. Hermit Park Bus service was established in 1949.[2]
