Tranquilidade (tranquility in English) is a Portuguese insurance company, founded in Oporto in 1871. It is part of the Portuguese economic group "Grupo Espirito Santo".
The company has enjoyed a lot of highs and lows during its history, and at the moment (year 2006) has a very solid economic presence on the Portuguese insurance market.
