Trachycorystes is a genus of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Auchenipteridae. It includes two species, T. cratensis and T. trachycorystes.[1] T. cratensis originates from the Granjeiro River basin in Ceará State, Brazil. T. trachycorystes is distributed in the Amazon River basin and Essequibo River basin in Guyana, and Orinoco River basin in Venezuela.[1]
T. trachycorystes is known to grow up to 35.0 centimetres (13.8 in) SL. It has oviducal fertilization.[2]
