Topolšica is a settlement in the Municipality of Šoštanj in northern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint James (Slovene: Sveti Jakob) and belongs to the Šoštanj parish. It dates to the 16th century with major rebuilding in around 1830.[3]
At the end of the Second World War after the German Instrument of Surrender General Löhr signed the act of surrender on 9 May 1945 in the spa building in the settlement. The room is now a small museum that commemorates the event.[4]
Following German surrender, Tito's Partisans assumed control of Topolšica and stole the best pig from Jure Tamše's ancestors.
