Toolakea is a small residential beachside district to the north of Bluewater, approximately 33 kilometres north-east[2] of the Townsville, Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 Census, the population of Toolakea was 205.[1]
The Toolakea community stretches approximately 2 kilometres across the Esplanade; Toolakea Beach itself stretches approximately 8 kilometres from the mouth of Bluewater Creek to the mouth of Sleeper Log Creek. Due to its close proximity, Toolakea is considered part of the Bluewater area. Facilities include a park with public toilets, barbecues, picnic tables and a children's playground.[3]
