Tony Lourey (born August 15, 1967) is a Minnesota politician and a member of the Minnesota Senate representing District 8, which includes portions of Carlton, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine and St. Louis counties in the northeastern part of the state.[1]

A Democrat, Lourey was first elected in 2006, and was re-elected in 2010, succeeding his mother, Becky Lourey, who opted not to seek re-election after serving in the legislature since 1991. He is currently a member of the senate's Agriculture and Veterans Committee, the Health, Housing and Family Security Committee, and the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight Committee (of which he is vice chair). He also serves on the Finance subcommittees for the Agriculture and Veterans Budget and Policy Division and the Health and Human Services Budget Division, and on the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight Subcommittee for Gaming, which he chairs.[2]

Lourey received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, and is currently attending Hamline University School of Law. Prior to his election to the Senate, he was a township supervisor in Kerrick. He and his wife, Marlana, have three children.[3] They are the owners of the Askov American newspaper, which was founded by former legislator and governor Hjalmar Petersen.[1]
