He released his self titled debut album in 1989 on that label and it peaked at #58 on the Billboard R&B Album chart. Three singles were released ("Higher Than High", "Cookie Crumbles", and "Forever More") without much chart success.[1] Although Prince often worked behind the scenes on albums for his label, he officially played no role in this one. LeMans, an avid motorcyclist, was killed in a traffic accident on June 24, 1992 in Malibu, California.[2] He had just begun the recording sessions for his second album, which was to feature a Prince composition called "Fuchsia Light." He wrote songs on Donny Osmond's comeback album as well as The Rolling Stones's 1993 release Voodoo Lounge.[3] By his manager, he was called " one of those acts that comes around once-in-a-lifetime".[3]
