Tom Strohman (born in 1952) is an American flutist, saxophonist, clarinetist, pianist and songwriter/producer. At the age of six, he began showing an interest in the Piccolo. Tom studied Flute, Saxophone and Clarinet under the instruction of his father, H. Herbert Strohman. He commenced his studies at Lebanon Valley College with Frank Stachow, eventually graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Music Education. Tom has also studied with Phil Woods, Joe Allard, Charles DeLaney, Adolphe Sandole, John Oberbrunner, and Walter Bishop, Jr., in addition to earning a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from Towson University.

Tom first developed a distinct interest in Jazz while in high school. He was named "Outstanding Musician" at the Quinnipiac Intercollegiate Jazz Festival while a member of the Lebanon Lebanon Valley College Jazz Band. Tom has performed as a freelance musician for famous entertainers Sonny and Cher, Frankie Avalon, Della Reese, Al Martino, The Four Aces, Patti Page, Eddie Fisher and Bobby Vinton. He has had the pleasure of working with these musicians as a solo performer: Al Grey, Buddy DeFranco, Bobby Rosengarten, Johnny Coles, Ira Sullivan, David Schnitter, John Blake, John Von Ohlen and Steve Gilmore.
Tom has been a founding member of Third Stream since 1974 - one of Pennsylvania’s well-noted contemporary bands. The group has also performed live in concert with Spyro Gyra, Jeff Beck, Herbie Hancock, Eumir Deodato, Livingston Taylor, Phil Wilson and Stanley Turrentine in addition to releasing five of their own albums.
In addition to performing with Third Stream, Tom is an Associate Professor of Music at Lebanon Valley College, where he directs the Sax Ensemble, Jazz Bands teaches Jazz Studies, Saxophone and Orchestration. He was the prominent private saxophone instructor for Jared Michael, another successful musician from the same Pennsylvania hometown. He currently lives with his wife Sherie, son Gregory and daughter Megan in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
