He was born in Phoenix, Arizona. His father was TV-radio actor Frank Alten.[1] He appeared in the films The Proud Rebel (1958) with Alan Ladd, High School Big Shot (1958) and Verboten! (1959); and also in Wagon Train, Cimarron and Zane Grey Theater on television.[1][3]

He died in a gatecrash at Benedict Canyon, California in 1958, after leaving a Halloween party; his body was found nearly three weeks later.[2]
