Tom Hill (musician)

Tom Hill (born Thomas Hill, 11 April 1950[1]) is a British musician, songwriter and businessman, best known for his part as bassist for the glam rock band, Geordie.

Early life

Hill was born as one of three children, with his brothers James and Alan in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. At Newcastle Main School for Boys, Hill was a good student who excelled in music. Hill was influenced by the music of pub songs, folk songs, and rock music from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. He appeared in bands from the age of 15 and his uncle, John Hill, was an accordion player and singer."

Joining Geordie

Hill co-founded Geordie with his friend Vic Malcolm in 1970 and helped to write the song, "Hope You Like It" and many others. He spent the next five years as the group's bassist until it disbanded in 1978.

Hill is a businessman and lives in Gateshead, UK.
