Tom Bruce (rugby league)

Tom Bruce was an Australian rugby league footballer in the New South Wales Rugby League competition. A winger or five-eighth, he played alongside Dally Messenger in Easts teams between 1909 and 1912.

Bruce, a halfback, played in 19 matches for the Eastern Suburbs club In the years 1909-1912). Although not being a member of Eastern Suburbs first premiership winning side in 1911, he is however listed as playing for them in that season.

Bruce enlisted in the AIF, where he rose from private to second lieutenant in the 36th Infantry Battalion.[1] He was killed in Belgium on 12 October 1917.
