Services

Toktumi is a company that offers cloud communications services and a VoIP client for the desktop and smartphones. To learn more about the company, visit www.toktumi.com. To learn more about their popular iPhone VoIP client, visit www.line2.com. David Pogue of the New York Times has written about Line2.

The 16-bit sound coming thorough the phone is sent over Wi-Fi, except when none is available, then it goes through ATT's 3G. If the 3G signal is too weak it auto-switches to the regular ATT mobile phone service. An applicant receives a new phone number, and has the option to request a 800 number. You can also have your old number transferred. Line2 is the first app that can receive incoming calls via either Wi-Fi or cellular voice, so one gets the call even if the app isn't running. Line2's call-management features include visual voice mail and conference calling with up to 20 other people. Line2 also runs on the iPhoneiPod Touch the iPad and Android powered devices. The Line2 app's UI is very similar to the iPhone's native dialer app so the user does not have to learn a new behavior. The dialing pad, the Contacts list, the recent calls list and visual voice mail all look just like the iPhone's. However, currently, there is no support for SMS [1]
