Tiszakürt

Tiszakürt is a village in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary.

Location

The Great Plains, the Tiszazug, expelled from the left coast, Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok county southwestern corner of the county town, about 45 km Szolnok. Neighboring municipalities Cserkeszőlő, Tiszainoka, Tiszaug, Csépa, Szelevény. The nearest town (s): Kunszentmárton and Tiszakécske (already Bacs-Kiskun County).

Approach

Road to route 442 (Szolnok - Kunszentmárton) and the route 44 (Kecskemét - Gyula) can be achieved. The road transport in Jászkun Volán buses but they affect the villages of Kunság Volán and Volánbusz and its flights as well. Railway line will not lead to the settlement. The nearest railway station is a 146 MÁV number Kunszentmárton-Kecskemét line between the village, approx. 7 km from the Tisza Tiszaug Hídfő station.

It covers an area of 28.37 km² (11 sq mi) and has a population of 1372 people (2011).

History

The first written reference at the abbey in 1075 Garamszentbenedek Series Kurth villa in the founding letter of the name. In the Middle Ages through the royal estate was part of Outer-Szolnok County. XV. Vezseny century, the family and the village was owned by Paul Kinizsi. Tiszakürt Szolnok 1552 occupation was finally under Turkish authority. The 15-year war during a time deserted, but the XVII. century re-installed. Then it was owned their soldiers. 1674 was held in treasury. Holders of the Turkish occupation after 1705-1741 Christopher Steössel, 1741-1777 Laszlo Steössel , 1777-1815 Christopher Columbus Steössel II. , 1815-1825 Steössel Mary and Theresa; 1825-1852 gr. In 1872 a large village to get the rank and Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok county district belongs to the lower Tisza. In 1919, the Romanian army troops temporarily occupied the village, and formed the short-lived border barrier Tisza. 1951st On January 1 of the "Kisasszonyszőlő", a farm center broke from Tiszakürt and Cserkeszőlő settlement became known as an independent.

Name

The Tisza River in the prefix refers to the river ,the kürt-suffix is one of the conquering Hungarian tribes. Probably belonging to this tribe occupied the land.

Natural values

The Bolza family created by the Arboretum: The XIX. At the end of the century, the Protestant church acquired 17 ha forested and swampy areas began to develop, Mary Tige Countess initiative. The garden was a forester from Transylvania, Mihály Tompa began to build. The original oak, elm and sycamore with ash tree, linden, American oak, and pine trees (heavy smell of juniper, spruce, poplar, pine and black pine) installed. In 1946, came into public ownership.
