Tingbjerg

Tingbjerg is a large housing project designed and built from 1950 to 1972 by Steen Eiler Rasmussen as principal architect. It is located 6km northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The area is idyllic in its own green pocket surrounded by Vestvolden and Utterslev Mose. There is plenty of light and air, beautiful nature and rich wildlife. The inhabitants are mixed with Danes and immigrants. Of 6,566 inhabitants, 42% are native Danes, 37% are immigrants and 21% are Danes with immigrant parents.

Violence, Islamization and Racism

Over the years Tingbjerg has been turning gradually into a Muslim enclave in which non-Muslims have been increasingly subjected to harassment and criminality. Among these victims has been the pastor of Tingbjerg Church. After several years of being persecuted by local Muslim youths he quit his post and fled the neighborhood, thereby making headlines around the country and sparking widespread discussion and debate about a very widespread phenomenon - namely, the ongoing Islamization of urban areas across Western Europe.[1]

In October 2011, Muslims living in Tingbjerg, led by Abu Solaiman of Kaldet til Islam[2], proclamed Danish law abolished and introduced Sharia law. [3]

There is also violence against Muslims in Tingbjerg. On August 14, 2008, Osman Nuri Dogan, a 19-year-old Turk, was shot and killed by an AK81 member in Tingbjerg.[4]
