Tianmen (simplified Chinese: 天门; traditional Chinese: 天門; pinyin: Tiānmén) is a sub-prefecture-level city in central Hubei Province, Central China.
It is on the west of Wuhan and east of Jingzhou. Formerly known as Jingling (竟陵), it was renamed to Tianmen (天门) in 1726 during Qing Dynasty.
It is the hometown of Lu Yu, who is respected as "the Sage of Tea" for his contribution to Chinese tea culture.
